Winter, Zion National Park, Utah.
Mid morning in Zion. It was still cold in the shadows, and frost rimed the trees. The trails were treacherous, and so we cruised the canyon road up to the Temple of Sinawava, where the Virgin River leaves the Narrows and enters a broader corridor. But even the floodplain is described by massive formations, and must make a large horse shoe turn around The Organ and Angel's Landing, known as Big Bend.
